Re-Introducing the Real Windows Vista

A friend of mine and I were talking on AIM last night about his newfound love with Apple, and more specifically with his new replacement for his PC, the PowerBook. Yeah, the Mac OS GUI is beautiful and exquisitely perfect looking, but in my opinion it is by far "the world's most advanced operating system" as Apple tries to claim.

The conversation we were having fit in well with another chit-chat I had just a week ago with another friend of mine who owns a local software development company. My stance during that debate was regarding Intel and Apple now joining forces and how it might allow Apple a spotlight on the public stage .. and not with a puny handheld audio player. But, after talking a bit, my confidence in Apple was definately lowered after a simple statement was made: "Microsoft could trump Apple at any time." Those seven words made me think for a minute, and then the debate was over. He was right, Apple only goes as far Microsoft allows them to. MS doesn't trump Apple because there is no threat or need, they can just take any new ideas that arrise from the Mac OS, implement it into the next version of Windows, and [viola] everyone loves MS again and the features that were so steadfast in the marketing avenues for Apple are now at the wayside. MS just has more clout, more money, and more developers - they can pretty much conquer Apple at any time in the big business picture of things, but why should they .. with Apple around, MS goes farther with each release of Windows.

And how about this — my whole thought on the subject was put into three insanely funny Quicktime presentations that follow Bill Gates' speech at the last CES convention in Las Vegas (couple of weeks back) to a T.
