Hundreds of links, and nearly the same amount of tags - it was getting rid.iculo.us!
It's taken hours (literally), but I just finished cleaning out my del.icio.us closet. After manually deleting every tag in my account, I (one-by-one) shift+clicked each link in my del.icio.us links page, opening it into a new browser tab, went back to the del.icio.us tab, two-click deleted the link I just opened, went back to the opened link tab, clicked the "post to del.icio.us" browser button to re-add the link, and re-tagged the link post with a standardized tag convention I came up with [to minimize the amount of scattered tags that end up with only 1 link assigned to each].
During this process, I cleaned out tons of links and got my del.icio.us link count back down to an even 100, and only 48 different tags (most of which relate to each other), 11 of which only have one link and are basically for future link tagging.
